Not to mention a key component is a tight alliance between government and business interests, which is sorta what the Republican party is all about (Democrats at least pretend not to be into it).

The one guy had the bright idea of just turning his computer around so nobody could see what he was doing as they walked past. Only problem was that there was a highly reflective window right behind his cube…
Addiction/obsession. At my last job not one but two guys got fired for repeatedly looking at porn on their work computers despite multiple warnings.
Ah, I see. Yeah, the crazy stalker person is a legitimate threat, from what I understand, to the point where the police had to be involved. They accused me of being him too when I first went there (after being invited to visit no less) and they looked at my history too.
That seems strange. Why wasn't the offending person just banned instead of shunned? And why was nobody allowed to talk to the offender?
You forgot Christian. Being Christian puts you at the bottom of the totem pole in this country too, remember?
True. I've noticed there are people on both sides of the aisle who don't quite get it. Freedom of speech means the government can't punish you for your speech or censor you. That's it. Doesn't protect you from repercussions from your employer, your school or anyone else; doesn't mean anyone has to give you a platform…
Hmmm, given that conservatives are the ones who loudly champion "at will" employment, they should really be taking Google's side in all this, right?
I guess, in the end, that's what really matters…
You know not of what you speak. Lays Canada-only ketchup chips are utterly fantastic.
Yeah, that would be a case in point too. Gun ownership makes suicide statistically more likely because it takes away any time to have second thoughts about a suicidal urge. instead you get instant gratification.
I’m actually not against responsible sane gun ownership per se, but I’m just reminded that guns are much more likely to harm someone in the household than do anything else. When my kids are grown up and out of the house, then maybe I’ll think about getting that vintage revolver to shoot at a range.
Damn you people and your compelling anonymous conversation!
If only. As someone who works in retail advertising, I'd say there was a group effort involved in this. Unless someone literally took the sign from a different display and plopped it on top of the gun case, this was specifically planned by Walmart's merchandising team.
Getting a return on your taxes in the form of a social safety net or beneficial government programs is for commies. A real American is happy to see his money disapear into the corporate welfare/ military industrial void.
Even normal gun owners aren't a fan of the craziness gun nuts espouse. My one gun collector relative was bragging to me his guns would be useless for self defense because they're locked up 90 ways from Sunday and it would take him about half an hour to get one unlocked and functional.
I'd be very curious to know what sort of halfwit thought this was a smart move - "Wait, you're telling me there've been massive amounts of school gun massacres in this country? Why, I had no idea…"
They meant "Mow down the school like a hero".
I don't know.
For legit reasons or "not cool enough/part of the clique" reasons? Seems like both happen over there.
