The movie's ending was certainly better than the story's ending.

No. That's generally not done solely for attention seeking.
I always found those obnoxious too.
Not necessary? How else can they turn it into a franchise to exploit for maximum profit?
That story in particular always weirded me out.
It was a bit odd that way, with a whole extended multiple generation family from America relocating to Japan. Generally when one relocates from one first world country to another you don't take your adult siblings and parents with you.
I thought The Grudge was actually a bit better than the Japanese original. Heresy, I know, but there it is.
Missing the point again. Remarrying and smiling is not the issue. Using the event as a big attention-seeking social media statement is.
Exactly. I wonder how this kind of thing makes his wife's family feel, or their kids if they had any. I'd be a bit more considerate that maybe everyone doesn't grieve like me and something like this might adversely affect others who were close to her.
Possibly.
I'm not on social media. I'm not a narcissist.
Not the point. Getting remarried isn't the issue, making a public circus over it so soon is what strikes me as tacky.
You can be happy and not be a narcissist, and be a bit respectful of your deceased wife's memory.
He put it out there for the attention and to get reactions, so it's fair game, just like anybody else's social media posts.
This display of narcissism would be tacky enough even if his wife hadn't died little more than a year ago…
Not to mention that first sandwich looks like it has a Kraft single peeking out around the edges…
Conservative men seem to have this odd compulsion towards really bad/dorky hairstyles I've noticed…
Well, now I have to…
You have to plug it in for it to work.
I had an actual conversation at a fringey right-wing website with a guy who claimed a real conservative would never eat sushi.
