Yup, and we could have landed in Ontario at virtually any point when moving our 27 ft sailboat - which definitely does not have AIS - from Lake St Clair to our marina in La Salle, Michigan.

A self driving bread box shaped vehicle? I’d send the dogs to the park every day.

A Ford salesguy tried to explain those odd black “sights” that run over the hood more or less from the headlights. Tiedowns of some kind plus useful for off roading? um, OK...

WHERE ARE OUR FACES????

KIA: Get your damn turn signals up into a visible place. Otherwise, nice styling work.

Wow. Great find. Of course it’s a base model; not even a rear wiper. Sigh. I’d probably fly out there for an AWD... but only 88K miles is tempting.

I thought the same: a modern near-equivalent. Every example I can find is either a clapped out commercial van or the rare passenger version is priced like a new one. It’s bizarre how much people think they can get for these vanlets.

Dad came back from WW2 without a plan. He picked up a 1936 Cord 810 Beverly sedan pretty cheap and started driving it as a taxi. In late 40s Oklahoma, taxis were one of the segregated things. White drove for whites, blacks drove for blacks, and Native Americans didn’t get picked up.

Pretty sure the first generation GM Hydramatic (circa 1940) can be push started due to pressure pumps front and rear.

Why are we “running back to dealerships”? Because they may say they’d love to sell you a car remotely, but they really don’t want to. Every attempt I have made at finding a specific example to test drive (because you can’t do that remotely) has failed. And every conversation so far (8 dealerships and counting) has

Surprised to not see a bunch of “Irish Spring soap in a net bag” comments. Cause that shit don’t work. We had to park three of our cars when moving, as the auto shipper chose the day of the move to say “whoops, can’t make it” right before we rolled out of San Diego for Ohio.

Hey, thanks for the detailed response. I still have not had a dealer offer a way to test drive. Even now that dealerships are “open” in Ohio, there are no dealers anywhere near with one. I’m likely to go to a Detroit area dealer at this point.

But even more important: what do you think of the car? I currently have a V8 powered Land Rover LR4 and Volvo C70, both are torque-heavy. I’d much prefer the V6 but Buick didn’t put it in the wagon, so here we are.

I’m in Toledo, Ohio. You? Cause that’s almost exactly the options I want. Also want the sunroof, but that’s negotiable....

It’s ironic that we hear all about how dealers are struggling to stay afloat and I can’t get one to return my call or email. I’d like to test drive an Opel Insignia (I prefer to say that over Buick Regal TourX) before they depart the US, but closest example is about an hour away. None of the three dealers I contacted

But you’ve driven the same make/model before so you know you like how it drives?

Have you been able to drive it first?

HOAs are defined by their lowest common denominator, which is generally a person who hates anything that they themselves would not do, no exceptions. You clearly support this approach to life, so you deserve to live under an HOA. Enjoy.

um, Daimler not Rolls. Also, how can you ignore the Lancia (MonteCarlo) Scorpion?
