I would suggest vice grips instead of pliers.

So, I’m kind of a cheat and Pash/Dachis made mine, so I can’t speak too much to it—but they didn’t use a vice, they used pliers. In fact, I think the one they made on the Lifehacker Show is the one that I’m using.

It’s tough to do, but it is one of my all-time favorite tricks from this site. I’ve been using that car dock for my phone for something like five years now and I still use it to this day. It’s amazing.

I use this in my car... binder clip goes on the vents. :) One clips my BT adapter, another clips my phone power cord.

Especially number 8 seems overly complicated when you can roll the lip of the opening and just clamp it with binder clips. Just saying.

Ad on the lock screen? Yeah, it’s $15 if you want to get rid of that. But the ads are only on the lock screen/screensaver. Personally, the ad there has never bothered me in any way (and sometimes they run $20 specials on shit just for Fire owners, which has gotten me some deeply discounted stuff).

Doing a yearly purge of crap you’ve collected is totally different from “pack up everything you own and pretend you’re moving,” though.

Maybe start here? (or find something else in the same vein but better suited to your issues?)

PocketCasts customer service is *amazing*. i submitted a feature request one afternoon, got a reply that evening, and my request was in the next version of the app which appeared in the android store 4 days later.
