Not really. Any good quality, IP based cctv camera (and possibly some analog ones - I don't deploy those) has the ability to record any frames with movement, and most can be set to record x amount of time prior to the movement and x amount afterwards. And then send that info to an email address or FTP site.

I think that you are all missing the point about what makes Square (or paypal - but I tend to avoid them after several issues) better than Verifone. It's not the card reader, or the app. It's the simplicity of signing up and getting started.
