Thank you. People here are like, this guy is an asshole. And I’m thinking, no he’s a plain ol’ bad person.
It’s $8/month, if you want to read one month’s worth of articles, including the Williams Sonoma one whenever that comes out.
Also, a lot of places have Democrats as Mayors, Governors, Legislators...their people are still being killed/beaten by their police. Voting blue alone does nothing on that front, unfortunately.
In Portland the police keep trying to funnel the protesters to the Old Town/Chinatown neighborhood, aka the rundown part of town where hundreds of homeless people are camped out right now.
I heard George Takei say that when the Sulu role on Star Trek came around, so many Asian American actors were gunning for that one, since it didn’t require an accent. I think about that kind of a lot.
He had a goodbye post a few weeks ago:

Didn’t they turn off the page view counters, too? I refuse to look for myself.
Densho is a wonderful resource and nonprofit, thank you for mentioning them.
Thank you for clarifying. I was like, what’s this guy talking about, that dog is clearly right there!
I don’t think they’re overlooking it at all. That’s part of the glee.
Well some car chase scene was filmed in Portland, which I know because it went right by where I work and shut down the neighborhood all day for it.
The redress wasn’t to heirs, though. You had to have been in the camps yourself. That’s why, say, my aunties and uncle got redress (all in camp and one auntie born in camp), but my mother got nothing, having been born after the war.
And the names that they went with seem to be Teen Wolf references?
Also, I bet he never did pray for Jason Collins’s family, either.
Oh, mine is similar. I was walking through a Barnes & Noble on my way to work, the very day the Half-Blood Prince came out on paperback, which was when I was going to buy the book. I walked past these two women having a conversation, and one of them is saying, “...until she killed off Dumbledore.”
Eugene is not less than an hour away from Portland, but there are indeed a lot of us Ducks in Portland. I thought it was weird that the 2-seed played essentially a home game here, but I guess they figured they would sell a lot of tickets, which they did.
Yeah, that song was released around 9/11, and if memory serves, wasn’t the video filmed with the New York skyline in the background, like literally just days before 9/11? I remember liking that song but the video always unnerved me because of the prominence of the World Trade Center buildings in it. In any case, fuck…
One of our old neighbors had two Rottweilers that were terrifying. He would leash them to his front porch and leave them alone, and if you walked by while they were out there, they would try to charge at you. And that dude was on the way to the bus stop! What an asshole.
I thought they were especially quick to cut Drake off because there was a little girl up there on stage with him, and everyone in the booth was like NOPE NOPE NOPE
