ok boomer

Did you go to sleep in 2002 and just now wake up? This is the SUV hill you’re going to die on?

Tires, and did they mess with traction settings at all?

While flipping through the New York Time’s archives I read an article from 1908 that Ford contemplated adapting the Model T to drop fake horse shit all over the street to ease early adopter’s minds.

I use the bottom one all the time, its great for stripped bolts in hard to reach spots. Its gets good bite and holds on to deformed heads.

I’ve got a couple of automatic wrenches that do just about the same thing, that were made in the 50s. They have gotten me out of a few jams when the regular sockets/vice/crescent have failed.

Ahh, makes sense. Journalism 101, communicate clearly and concisely. I would have used a different word to avoid the synonym.

That headline is a mess, I had to read it 12 times and it still doesn’t make grammatical sense.

To my knowledge, those vehicles were *only* offered with removable “factory hard tops”. Is that what you mean? In any case, whats your point?

Must not read the news much, the Saudis along with OPEC just cut production (seemingly an intentional move to stick it to Biden right before the midterms, and aid Russia in funding the Ukraine war). Gas will go up shortly, and it’ll be out of the hands of any US president that the Saudis disapprove of.

I’m shocked automakers dont try more “convertibles” (for lack of a better word) in the style of 1st gen 4runner, Jimmy, Bronco, etc.. Jeep takes huge profits because its a “fun in the sun” kind of SUV. They dont all need to be as capable off road, just needs to look the part for bros to go top down.

True, its a good balance between utility and efficiency. I guess I’m comparing it to the Rav4 Prime, which is a tough benchmark. In town, I’m actually averaging 200+ MPG because most of my driving with within the 24 miles of EV mode, and I’m able to top off electrons several times a day. If you’re not charging at work

I’ve got an ‘18 Outlander PHEV, and have few regrets. No issues in 71k miles, love the EV mode (good for 24 miles), and its pretty comfortable. Lots of options for the money. The handling is pretty decent for an SUV, and the AWD has a rear bias for maximum fun in the snow. My main complaint is the ICE only gets 30mpg

Every cop in America after seeing pics:

No, its not.. Quite far from it. This is decoration, but at least its different.

In a world of boring white/grey/black compact SUVs that have design language thats indistinguishable, I welcome weird. Whats your take on the Golf Harlequin?

There’s been some bad takes at Jalopnik lately, one wonders if day drinking is getting in the way of their work. First the RS200 now this? They’re just trolling us for comments now.

The missed clicks are the real tragedy.

You cant do a “worst facelift” story without showing before/after.

People live so far outside their means, its amazing. My last two cars (‘19 Bolt, ‘18 Outlander PHEV) were paid in cash after I found absurd deals on used models. I could buy new, but cars are much better up to 100k miles than they used to be.
