So much to unpack here..

Ever more than steak, I enjoy a fine silver lining. Looks like taco Tuesday is back on!! In all seriousness, I consume way more chicken than beef. Steak is maybe once every 2-3 months, same with burgers.

I dont use cryptocurrency. Read up about the ridiculous amount of energy (more than some cities) to “mine” by doing complex computations. I’d be fine going back to physical currency if it meant smaller carbon footprint, but I think Venmo and Amex should be a good balance, although I guess banks use a ton of power too,

You have to think about the amount of energy and fossil fuels going into the production of said material. If someone replaces the fabric 25x over the life of the vehicle, you’re looking at far more manufacturing. If its parked in the sun, it wont last more than 2-3 years. The first time a branch grazes a panel it’ll

It it doesn’t come off with WD-40 and a rag it stays.

How is using fabric, which will need to be replaced 100x over the course of ownership, any more responsible than using a lifetime use plastic? You can even make it out of recycled bottles if you’re looking for that warm fuzzy.

I’m a huge environmentalist, but a few lbs of plastic on a low production car isn’t that big

Bronco Raptor? I love the concept, but confused as to what this creature might actually look like. All I can think of is a horse on its hind legs with really short arms (front feet?), jagged teeth, and crazy eyes. Surely someone in marketing brought up that two conflicting animals would be weird.

Ford, just lean into

You can say this about every performance vehicle from Countach/GTR/911 to Wrangler/F350/Hummer. Its not exactly a nuanced or novel perspective. People like expensive things, and usually get used for their actual purpose 1% of the time.

Very true, there’s also some overlap. I doubt anyone would want to putz through a city center just to save a few miles of range when on a road trip. There will have to be some balance of range+time.

If you dont tell the school, no, you wont need a test result. I’m not saying its the moral thing to do, but if your kid has a mild sniffle and a 1 degree increase it’d be nice to get a test to be on the safe side. Is every parent going to pay $100 for a rapid test? Nope. Are they going to wait several days for a PCR

But more middle class WOULD if cars were $12k cheaper. Including more people costs the gov’t nothing. We shouldn’t care who buys, and if the less affluent still cant, this changes nothing, rich will still continue using these credits.

On the other hand, your assumption is wrong. I see plenty of people driving cars

Its not.

I’m a Jeep owner: I hear “smiles per gallon” all the time when folks with old YJs complain about 10mpg, then everyone rips on them. Its almost a badge of honor to slap cheap repairs on old rigs since its “just a trail jeep”, when in fact you just need a tune up and fix about 7 exhaust leaks.

The problem with tax credits is that it excludes working class households and benefits the upper-middle class and rich. If you dont have enough tax liability, you can make the credit a million dollars and it wouldn’t make any difference. Most blue collar workers wont have more than $500 of liability, if any. The

The one thing I dont get about the “plan-demic” theory is this: How do you get the ENTIRE FUCKING GLOBE onboard with your coverup? Sure, yeah.. every country on the planet is in on it. Makes perfectly, logical sense.

What?! $100 a pop for anything shorter than 7 days here in Iowa. The rapid test takes a few hours, and the free test takes about 2-3 days if an appointment is available (which it’s usually 3-4 days booked). That shouldn’t come as a huge surprise though. Yes, I have good insurance, and its actually $10 cheaper to get

Last I checked, people who drive such vehicles use the phrase “smiles per gallon, not miles per gallon” and could really care less. You are correct, that this would in fact save them big bucks, but they just dont care from my experience in the Jeep community. Pretty sure they made that deal with the devil at the time

EV owner here.

Basically any talk of free maintenance services (oil changes) or extended powertrain warranty on an EV. I’ve bought 2 in the last 3 years and the salespeople are fucking clueless.

David Tracy on the other hand, you’re one self away SOB.

If breathing in TEL is bad, I wonder what JP5 did to me when I was in the Navy. Jet fuel has a very distinct scent, and it brings back some memories.. Most of them anyways.
