If you compared the mirror and camera in real time you’d see that the camera is much wider.

The camera is wider, no need to move so see more, you see everything.

Fuel economy. I really would love to drive a Wrangler, 4Runner, Land Cruiser or the like, but I’ll never buy another vehicle that gets under 40mpg mixed. Wont do it.

I’m talking daily driver. Weekend toy is forgivable.

agree 100%

If you’re talking about the rear mirror, I disagree. I’ve got a video-cam on my rear view and its way wider at a glance, eliminating most blind spots. You can see way more on the fly. It would be cumbersome to push a button to activate your backup camera, and you cant do that on every car. My Bolt wont let me access

For a side mirror, its mostly a wider angle which eliminates the blind spot.. But yes, you can get wide angle mirrors too. The rear view camera-mirror is way more useful than side camera-mirrors. You also wouldn’t have to readjust the viewing angle every time, but a Lexus would have memory positions already so thats

I’ve got a camera rear view mirror in my Bolt and its awesome. The first couple of days take adjustment, it now it feels natural. The angle is much wider, I dont have to worry about backseat passengers/headrests/cargo, and I no longer have to re-adjust the angle every time my wife drives it.

My wife already vetoed that idea, an ex-boyfriend ruined Mustangs for her going forward. He was some Jabroni who wouldn’t let anyone touch, sit in, lick, or otherwise lay a finger on, and she swore never to own one. Thats fine, I’m not really a huge Ford/Chevy guy, but Mustang would be perfect.. Plus V8!

I’ve been tempted to buy a Saab of this vintage, anyone have knowledge of how reliable, serviceable, DIY-able, and if parts are massively expensive? I see a lot of really nice (and newer) German cars selling for parts, wondering if Saabs will be the same losing battle.

Would also take recommendations on any other 4

Anyone who takes a street car and removes the airbag lacks proper judgement. Unless its track only, just why? I’m not wearing a helmet around town, and I like my face as is, mostly.

yeah, I gave my take 30 seconds to mature and its a bad one.

That steering wheel looks badass. Its been on every concept vehicle since the dawn of time, glad to see it go into production. Like everything, I’m sure the driver would get used to it.

While the pendulum always swings w/ new administrations and executive orders, Trump rolled things back because an Black man created them. There are no precedents for the last 4 years, and any EO done by Biden will be to repair the damage.

Biden believes in his policy, Trump has never had a plan, let alone policy agenda.

In the meantime, I’ll be charging at all my local free Greenlots (Shell Oil) DC fast charging stations as much as possible. They’re all free in my neck of the woods.

Agree, executive actions have no teeth after the term is over, but it’ll get backed up w/ legislation. EOs are sometimes issued to get the ball rolling, and backed w/ legislation w/in a year. There will surely be some form of the Green New Deal, perhaps w/ a different name and scaled down, passed into law.

Olds screams Grandma, not technological advancement.

Car brand

Saab for GM’s electric division: Its a lux/sport brand with cache, and more interesting design than anything GMs been doing lately.

Govt vehicles are perfect for electrification: Short, predictable routes w/ planned lifespan. The massive fuel and maintenance savings will justify the upfront expense. Glad to see some progress instead of more of the same.
