Depends on what circle you’re jerking in. C7 has a fresh looking exterior, whereas GTR has a 10-year-old look. When I see a GTR on the road, my first reaction: “is that a new one or an old one?”. C7 is unmistakable, and different than previous Corvettes, separating it from the 40+ crowd. The interior in the C7

WTF are they doing at 3:29? Close call for Ferrari.

That made my day 1000% better!

As mine used to say: “The eyes are useless when the mind is blind.”

The same industrial design team that created Drakan developed the D2 full body from Palatov’s concept. Volume-appropriate design of cars within a smaller budget is completely different from the way things are done at GM. The D2 body was developed from concept to complete, mold-ready CAD in just a few months. I agree

“D2 - A good start, but as the car most likely to see the road, it needs a professional industrial designer to go through it and refine the design - particularly the nose and the cage design above the body on the open version.”

So that’s the proper racing line at GingerMan. Look forward to testing it at the ChumpCar race next month.

This is great observation, and a real problem. I’ve noticed it as well. The obvious solution is for the automatic light control to always be on, with no manual option. The problem is, there are good reasons for manual. Because manual, and this is ‘murica, damn it.

Not only do 3800-powered cars refuse to die, the supercharged version (L67) was nearly bulletproof, got unbelievable MPG, and responded well to bolt-ons and tuning. My ‘98 Riv ran a 13.9 sec 1/4 mile and lapped the occasional STI at the road course. Not too bad for a 4000 lb Buick with 275k miles:

Agree 100%. Here’s some fun with a 246k mile Supercharged 3800, pushing around 14 lb of boost:

Good, better, best:

^^^ All of this. When you watch a top fuel race, it’s difficult to clearly focus on the cars when they launch. At first, I thought this was because the cars moved faster than I was able to track, then I realized the sound pressure was resonating my eyeballs! Not painful, but clear evidence of the power these cars make.

I’ve gotten the spray before. Some drivers do it because they think they’re being tailgated, and some are just washing without consideration for the line of cars behind them. No matter, the outcome is the same: if you spray my clean car on the freeway, you get swiftly passed, and you get the favor returned for at

The only parts that can rust on a 4C are the iron brake rotors. The chassis, body, and bumpers are composite, with some aluminum structural members.

Agree. I was thinking, the steering in this car feels so right. Why did they opt for the auto? Whatever mode in when I drove it, it wanted to upshift too early during corners. There’s surely a manual option, but a stick would be perfect in this car.

One reason they aren’t selling is limited availability (in USA). It’s not because of lack of demand. Some of the cars I’ve seen are asking a premium (60-75k is common). Lack of used resale is for the same reason. Owners are happy to have bought one. Due to such low numbers, and lots of buyers waiting, I doubt they

I drove a 4C for several miles last year. I’d compare it to the Lotus Evora more than the Elise. The carbon is glossy and well-finished, with a lot of softer materials and leather-covered surfaces inside, much different than the hard, aluminum panels in the Elise. The Alfa feels very light, but well-insulated, more

Had the opportunity to drive a 4C through about 50 miles of twisting canyon, south of LA, last year. Not once did I think the steering was too much to handle. I was thinking it would be a shame if it came any other way, and also that it sort of made up for the fact there was no manual shifter - sort of. The Alpha is

When reviewing a performance car, any automotive journalist worth their snark will refer to racing-only phrases like “snap understeer” and “on-center,” while patting themselves on the back for being so darn knowledgeable on what a car should feel like.
