I had a professor in college who showed the Shakespeare Taming of the Shrew played as a comedy with John Cleese and Tracy Ullman as Patrick and Kat, and it worked, mostly. It made all the torture dialogue into witty sarcasm and wordplay.

Don’t Starve is one of the best games ever, and is only about crafting and survival, at first. It goes MUCH deeper than you would think.

I agree. I remember having to convince my dad to retry Fight Club and Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, both of which he turned off immediately because they open with voice overs. He cited the same ‘narrative crutch’ argument and that it signaled the movies writing would be lazy.

To the Tommy middle-D haters...listen to any of episodes of Comedy Bang Bang and prepare to laugh for 90 minutes straight.

The one he did with Horatio Sanz from 2018 is one of the best episodes of all time, as is the first with the cast of Silicon Valley.
