I disagree entirely. Although Deep Space Nine appears to crib heavily from Babylon 5's premise, they are different enough stories that I don’t believe you can quite argue that one is better executed than the other.

Not in this thread.

Yeah, that was incredibly racist for a character in a Star Trek show. Or in general.

She cannot be a Mary Sue by definition. A Mary Sue refers to a type of self-insert character in fan fiction. Sadly, the term is generally misused to refer to any female character the viewer believes is “too good,” or “unbelievably competent,” or even “unrealistic (because we know only men can be so ridiculously

The same reason fanfic writers do. You can’t actually use a dick without shipping someone first.

I’ve got to say, as a Trekkie and a Whovian—Doctor Who gets the better anniversaries. Nothing beats “Day of the Doctor.” Nothing.

I would say that those “intangible” qualities are actually quite tangible. Reading a physical book is a far more tactual experience, and it engages the senses in a manner that reading an ebook doesn’t. It also tends to free one from distraction, seeing as all of one’s millions of notifications and other trivial

Thank you for making my point more eloquently than I ever could.

My argument falls flat on its face? Really? I thought it was well-reasoned and substantiated. Please explain this to me. Or am I just supposed to take you at your word?

Id say the accessibility has made the situation worse. People now think electric cars are eco freindly. Wheres the electricity coming from? Zeus’s butthole? 95% of it is from burning stuff.

I was right there with you—up until you began judging everyone who doesn’t as you prescribe. I would absolutely love for every little kitty in the world to run free—but the world ain’t perfect, and there are serious consequences, moral and otherwise, to having an outdoor cat. Not every cat is fit to roam the world

Hyperbole? On SPLOID?

Little? More like teeny-tiny. It is a minuscule death, barely enough to end the digital life that wrought it.

Bottom line: this freaky signal is probably not definitely, absolutely not extraterrestrial in origin aliens.

Well. A whole bag of ‘em, if I’m not mistaken.

Now playing

Also, why do you care? Why are you so *ahem* hard on to see an actor’s erection? The show doesn’t change because they use a digital double.

As a fan of the GUNNM manga, I say: “Shame on you!”

Really? Because First Contact holds up quite well to me.

Is there any well-known star that isn’t fodder for those conspiracy theories?

Pardon my ignorance, but what are “CHNOPS elements”? Are you literally talking about Carbon, Hydrogen, Nitrogen, Oxygen, Phosphorus*, and Sulfur, or is this some other process you’re referring to?

*Changed from Potassium. I forgot “Potassium” was represented by a “K” on the periodic table.
