I was half-joking, but I’ll give it some thought. Then again, I do know that Gawker is going through some rough times, so I’m not sure if they really need anyone.

Thanks, man! You don’t happen to know if they’re hiring?

Star Wars has shown us some of the amazing things you can do with animation. They gave us space whales! (Well, so did “Doctor Who” but anyway, I digress).

Except for that bit where he worked for UNIT.

Of course, everyone would just end up calling her a Mary Sue and we’d be back where we started. Possibly.

Worse is a matter of opinion.

It would make sense, considering global demographics. Hell, there’s no reason why most people wouldn’t be mixed race in the 23rd century.

Aye, Captain!

I’d argue that Dragon Ball was never even truly good. It’s a fun series for kids and adolescents, but it lacks depth and is thin on narrative cohesion. Its appeal stems from its characters, its over-the-top-action, its bizarre mish-mash of a setting, and the fact that it typically doesn’t take itself too seriously.

I would actually argue that Dragon Ball Super is the first time that Dragon Ball became truly good, instead of a just a guilty pleasure—as of two episodes ago. There’s a pretty blatant indication that Black arose as a consequence of Goku’s recklessness, which I will not spoil for those who might actually be interested

Making up your own rules is NOT hard science fiction. By most people’s definitions, that’s soft science fiction.

It’s a culture site, not just a news site. This type of article is par for the course.

I’m not being anti-Trek here, but I’ve come to absolutely loath the popular narrative Trekkies like to pass around that Trek was Hard SF. It wasn’t. Harder than Star Wars? Sure, but only because Lucas didn’t feel the need to pretend his baby was something other than space opera. People watch Star Wars for the drama,

This is a most fascinating development, I must say.

That being said, as much as I’d like this to be aliens, the constant dimming makes me wonder whether this is something much more mundane but not much less groundbreaking. Could we be catching this star just as it’s beginning to exit the main sequence, with the dips in

I watched the original Berserk, and while I’m not a fan I can definitely say that the new adaptation is horrible. While I’ve only seen one episode of the new series and, therefore, cannot fully judge the quality of the story, I can say that the original’s animation was far superior. I would take limited 2d animation,

Yeah, but that’s about two billion years in the future. More like four hundred million, if all you care about is complex life. We’re already in the latter half of the history of life on Earth, unless we develop some phenomenal orbital engineering capabilities that let us move Earth further away from the sun.

Meanwhile, the Romans are giving you a blank stare as they fail to understand your clever butchering of their tongue and their mythology.

Yes.

I’ve always wondered if there actually is anything beyond the event horizon of a black hole—even matter or space, technically speaking. Due to the fact that we know all black holes have a finite lifespan (due to Hawking radiation), and seeing as (unless I’m mistaken) gravitational time dilation approaches infinity the
