I always felt they got the casting backwards. (This brings to mind a quip from Groucho Marx about Sampson and Delilah that I’m not going to completely digress to.)

I hated Tom Cruise. Stuart Townsend was so much sexier. Lestat is supposed to be handsome AND charismatic, and Cruise just was not.
