Reminds me of this:
In my experience, all the people who defend homeopathy (that aren’t completely cuckoo and actually practice it and believe in it) have zero idea what it actually is. They just think it means “natural medicine.” I can’t tell you how many times I’ve had arguments with people over this.
Dude, her Twitter feed is a fucking cesspool. She tweeted this gem about Hillary Clinton on Mother’s Day:
I have a very small group of people on my FB- warm, wonderful and basically fabulous people who have decided for whatever reason that they are going to toss their support fully and whole-heartedly behind Jill Stein for the sake of “bringing an end to the two party, bullshit system in this country once and for all”.
The evidence for vaccine safety is rock solid. To have a public platform and then choose to pander to the antivaxxers is reprehensible and it shows that she does not keep up with the literature i.e. is unprepared. She is an embarrasment to the profession not unlike deepak chopra or Dr. Oz
She is very much a “cool girl” or at least she is to a lot of the Bernie Bros. For a while their cool girl was Elizabeth Warren until she endorsed Hillary. Honestly it kind of feels that they prefer hypothetical female candidates to real ones. As long as they don’t actually have a chance at winning they don’t see them…
Good God, woman, talk from both sides of your mouth a little more, will ya?
Exactly, this is the only political position Stein has been elected to:
Not just anti-nuke..... she doesn’t seem to understand that there is a difference between nuclear reactors and nuclear bombs.
Jill Stein seems to be a candidate with literally no integrity. She complains of electoral malfeasance by the Democrats than tells Bernie she’d happily hand over the Green Nomination (which she only has presumptively won thus far).
my humble advice to the green, libertarian, or any other third party: win local elections or shut the fuck up. you can’t show up every four years with having accomplished next to nothing and complain that you’re not on the presidential ballot.
Not just anti-nuke, but claiming we can switch to 100% renewables (without nuclear power) by 2030. Which is just... not even remotely possible. I’m a climate nerd, and I want to see action, but her plan is absurd.
If Jill Stein had any intention of actually doing anything other than running a vanity campaign every four years until she dies, she’d actually try building a political career by getting elected to something - anything - else. The fact that you only hear her name every four years says everything about her character…
The “Green” Party
This election cycle has turned me into a Democrat.
I feel like this is a safe space for me to rail against the Green Party (and all “third” parties in the U.S.) for a second.
Any doctor that vacillates (and especially on record) on something as basic as vaccines should be stripped of their license for spreading misinformation. Her statements ar shameful, not just for a physician but also for someone who aspires to be able to set forth policy that could affect millions of folks.
She’s also anti-nuke and pro-all-the-GMO-nonsense. Even if she had a real shot at winning this and ensuring that Trump doesn’t get elected wasn’t vitally important, her policy preferences and the Green Party platform are reason enough to not vote Green.
I got in the middle of a FB thread about 3rd party voting and cited her wishy-washiness on vaccines and I got several semi-heated responses and I quickly punched out of that thread because I’m too fucking old for social media squabbles
Just. Vote. Clinton.
