As a fellow Floridian, I have the opposite response. I have been devastated for days to think Florida is this racist and self destructive. Even a momentary reprieve  from that despair is welcome.

The thing that these narratives get wrong is that, for most rational, even liberal leaning people, trans identity does not automatically imbue someone with the capability to govern and lead.

We need a (longshot) ban on voters if they moved to Florida over 60. Snowbirds aren’t born in our hospitals, attend our schools or work here all their lives.... but they vote in droves and care only about keeping their retirement property taxes low before dying, and further pollute our water cycle.
