i was in the same boat until i thought a little about it and not only can pascal play, a little, younger but also he doesnt need to do almost any stunts by nature of his powers its gonna be mostly cgi doubles.

I had that thought after the last FF movie.

That was the plan back when Peyton Reed was pitching it to Fox (long before the MCU existed), I think there’s even some concept art floating around.

They’re going to get this movie done in 16 months?

I thought that was a terrible idea until I thought about it and now I love it. I’m in.

I love this.

The only way to do a Fantastic Four movie is making it a period movie set in 1961 that completely ignores the rest of the MCU

Sounds good to me.

I love the actors that have their own internal lore about The Doctor. Tenant sees him as retired. Capaldi sees his version traversing the stars and too busy to bother getting together with other versions of himself.

I’m pretty sure Tom Baker IS the doctor. At least in every interview with him he doesn’t seem to act like he’s playing a role.

There may be market exhaustion with any series named A Noun of Noun And Nouns.

Agreed. And then tack on the fact that there is a large - dare I say - willfully sheltered swatch of the US completely unaware of the amazing existence that is Miles Morales and, as soon as the first trailer drops, get ready for a flood of “Spider Man is white” comments.

Oh no, there’s a reason for all of this. Former Fox CEO Tom Rothman, who was in charge during the whole X-Men/Fantastic Four era and famously hated having to make those films, has been in charge of Sony since 2015...after Pascal stepped down because of the whole Fox emails leak situation.

The problem with Sony is they seem incapable of finding writers/directors that are even tangentially aware of how comicbook movies changed since the mcguire/xmen era. look at every film they have done with spiderman and it falls for the same pitfalls marvel figured out 15 years ago. even the good ones like venom

Re: The attacking purple smoke. Very likely this is Alioth, the Cerberus-like guardian of the Void at the end of time introduced in Loki Season 1.

This shot of Deadpool in the snowy forest... I think this is Sokovia during the opening of Age of Ultron.

I pray the last thing Deadpool kills in this film is the Multiverse. We’ve all had our fun, our references, meta stuff... lets get back to the humanity and believable stakes that gave the MCU its legs in the first place.
