Like I said, I love it. But it’s pretty clear that it’s not exactly what she would have chosen for herself. It was exactly the kind of pop music that’s produced to be a hit, but it erased her unique style for the most part.

I have loved all of her songs, but it was so, so clear that the “Promiscuous” stuff wasn’t really her: the image the lyrics, everything.
