Nobody really needs to buy these re-releases. When people stops buying them, Square-Enix will stop making them.
My last Nintendo console was the GameCube so maybe I'm not the best person to give an opinion, but I don't understand how the relative processing power of the Wii U has anything to do with whether it's worth it or not?

Apple has always said that they were making the kind of products they wanted to use themselves, and since most of the management at Apple are (were) not into gaming... This is probably changing with iOS.
