I’d have a lot more glee if he hadn’t somehow lived to 70 and had decades to do irreparable damage.

You are at just the right age, I must say!

In my market Wheel airs at 7 and Jeopardy is 7:30. Wheel is a nice warmup show. Where I used to live, it was reversed, but now that I’m used to this order, I like it. You finish dinner, watch most of Wheel, get yourself settled, then you’re ready for Jeopardy. Then you get up and feed the cats.

I get this reference because I too am old.

And Ed Grimly wept!

People who like word puzzles? I mean what’s the problem with it?

I don’t know if he ever said anything abhorrent about gay people, but he always seemed a bit uncomfortable around queer contestants, especially the ones who would mention a same-sex spouse.

One huge facet of the job you didn’t mention that requires a lot of work and discipline is keeping herself looking that good at her age. She doesn’t look like that from walking back and forth on stage lighting up panels for 5 days a month. But I agree, she’s got a sweet gig.

When I was younger and a big Jeopardy! fan, I too made fun of Wheel of Fortune and its fans, which I assumed were stupid in comparison to those of my chosen show. As I grow older, I realize the attraction of any game show is basically the same -- looking at cases where the players miss an obvious answer and saying “I

Yes, we should be informed if someone we’re reading about is abhorrent and odious.

Good for him and hell of a run in entertainment. Living in Hawaii will challenge that climate denialism.

that includes the ability to separate his personal views from his television persona. (YMMV whether that’s a good or bad quality to have.)

“Still, it’s puzzling that in this situation the licensing would provide rights for the movie, but not the poster.”

And one with Jack Klugman looking back over his shoulder so we can see his sweet ass.

Now playing

After opening by showing the Cylons launching their attack on humanity, Battlestar Galactica’s second ever scene is this marvel that introduces a ton of the major characters without ever feeling awkward in the cramped hallway sets.

There’s no complex camera movement involved, but Walt and Jesse’s climactic raging fight that ends with Jesse ordering Walt out of his life for good is done in a single take, with both Cranston and Paul having to nail the emotional intensity perfectly with nowhere to hide if they ever slipped.

Individual people are directly affected by causes and politics. That’s why we have causes and politics to begin with. Bigotry is about the dehumanization of individual people.

Like I said, I have’t seen it, so maybe it is a great movie, but I have qualms him ignoring those issues while clearly drawing on the current political climate to sell tickets to the movie. This quote from him in Variety also does not inspire confidence

It’s interesting seeing the reviews pour in on Letterboxd; they swing between effusive praise of the sort above calling it bold and incisive to elide the political questions of the civil war, to deliberately provocative yet hollow and evasive in terms of what it’s trying to say, if anything. Gotta admit my mileage

Remember she is only 33, when Joe Biden started, he was 33 but never was asked to make a SOTU Rebuttal to Richard Nixon! So, who knows maybe she can turn it around with hard work into studying rhetorical speaking.”
