I would say you found the individuals behind the operation.  Not sure about the brains part.

I found the brains behind this operation

The tires. The brakes. The “safety” equipment. A crazy era for sure!

That was a golden age of motorcycles. Back then Harleys were actually competitive, and not anachronistic jokes. Back then the Harley Sportster went toe to toe with the superbikes of that era. I think the last hurrah was in 1973, when HD was caught massively cheating with a hot motor in a magazine comparison test with

Mann competed at a time when the AMA championship included different types of races, dirt tracks of various lengths, TT, and road racing, IIRC.

Put a family photo in there. I’d have thought you’d think of that Ottomatically.

You know, I have to imagine panel gaps are a pretty serious issue on a roof.

All the motoring joy I had with my Chevette, but floppier and with less protection from the elements! What’s not to love?

The super low buck option for one of these is a boat trailer winch. We use one every fall to take our 2 boat lifts out of the water and onto shore for the winter months. If you take off the handle, you can just put two nuts together (don’t laugh) and put a socket attachment on the drill.

I imagine that’s what’s going to happen with the electric motor David’s planning on putting in this thing.

It looks like it could be saved, but certainly not at a price nor within a timeframe that makes sense given your ultimate plans for the FC.

I heard that David’s bile is actually rated for 10W30.

The most interesting engine I ever took apart was the 4.2 XK six in my Jaguar 420G. It, too, hadn’t been run in years (around five, when I took it apart a decade ago), but the car had fewer than 17k miles on it. So I got to see all sorts of pencil notations that the factory had left on alloy parts, untouched internal

Good to hear it’s not your blood, but honestly I wouldn’t be too shocked at this point.

That is a great sound. Love hearing it revving up.

Love that engine.

I like the go-cart track lol

Can we all take a moment to appreciate just how well this image summarizes the entire article?
