One of the big reasons I hate first-person is because, after being introduced to gaming through titles like Jazz, Keen, Crash and Spyro, FPS feels like gaming with horse blinders on and I have much more limited peripheral awareness.

Mass Effect weapons don't fire shells as such, the rounds are only the size of a grain of rice and entirely caseless (in fact, they're shaved off a solid block of metal), they just pack an enormous amount of kinetic energy into them because of the Mass Effect Fields used for accelerating.

Did you know animatronic animals are terrifying? Robots I can handle, but the moment you start dressing them up in the trappings of flesh-and-blood animals, I'm out. That goes for children's pizza party mascots, Furbys and Tickle Me Elmos. If it has eyes and fur but no soul, no thank you.

People said the art-style he used was "creepy", so he made a game that took advantage of that creepiness. He made a successful game because he learned from his feedback. There's nothing wrong with that, really.
