They should apply this to people too. Search for an ex's page, have other ex's show up in the results. Search for a person you de-friended, have other people you de-friended around the same time show up.
I think the true "answer" involves a balance, not a scale.

You can load users' configurations to iPads (I assume there's an Android equivalent as well) - I haven't had a chance (or need) to play with it yet. Depending on how fast it is, this could let you change to another configuration for sharing with another person.
I could see a couple reasons:

Apps (in the normal sense) aren't the answer. There could be Comedy Central, hulu+, and iTunes apps all showing some of the same episodes of The Daily Show. Which one should users choose? It would be much more convenient to choose The Daily Show from a list of shows and have it stream from the best available source…
I might not do this with my (future) kids, but will certainly do it with annoying house guests.

I remember trying to find the games folder before I could read. I would get right up to the monitor to see if the folder icons showed what was inside only to find out they were all identical.
