I fell into this crowd briefly on the PS3 with the Trophies. I got about five Platinums in a couple of months, then decided I preferred to play games for leisure. Now I still go for the Plats, but only when I happen to be playing a game I enjoy.

Perhaps somewhat ironically, the reason I upgraded to an HDTV was for Smash Bros. When I heard that Brawl would support widescreen, I thought, "Well, I guess I have to upgrade. Might was well go HD while I'm at it."

@Superspecs: Agreed. Unless the input lag is really severe, absolutely nobody is going to notice.

@plasticmouse: My apartment is pretty damn small, but that hasn't stopped me from buying a 40" LCD and sitting five feet away from it! Some people are willing to pay for things that aren't practical, I guess.

@Wartoad6: If it bothers you so much to have your grammar criticized, then you should pay attention to making your posts more easily readable. If you want to be taken seriously in a venue where all communication is written, you need to appear adequately literate.

@YayMii: Flashcarts aren't illegal. Not in the States, anyway.

@Wartoad6: Funny that someone who plays fast and loose with grammar the way you do would see fit to accuse someone else of being juvenile. At any rate, you don't seem to have understood my point.

@drizzt_rocks: Why do you keep saying "heavy"? Is there a problem with the Earth's gravity in the future?

@HealyHQ: The obtusely-worded sentence was part of the OP's joke. Not everyone is going to get it immediately. Learn to be polite, please.

@WhiteMÃ¥ge: Yeah, I guess you never looked at the comments for any Kotaku article about the DSi XL.

@panikt: I'm sure Nintendo is absolutely heartbroken to hear that.

@GhostWhoWalks: There's always flash carts. I have one which I use almost exclusively for emulation of older systems...specifically, GBC and NES. I haven't looked into it much myself, but I've heard that the DSi is capable of emulating GBA. That would be just about the next-best thing, right?

@nrXic: Same here. My hands are on the larger side, and I find that I prefer the original DS to all other iterations in terms of control layout. Of course, I have the newer ones because A: I want the nicer screen, and B: I'm an obsessive collector who spends his money irresponsibly.

@Wartoad6: Numerical scores are the biggest problem with most reviews. Different people have different tastes, and consider different things to be significant advantages or detriments.

This review reinforces everything I had suspected about the DSi XL: that it's an overall improvement, sacrificing only portability.

Number 3 is beautiful.

@AnOkayLumberjack: Ah, I didn't know about that one. I'll be on the lookout for it when playing through Trilogy, though.

@Crippen: I don't live in another dimension, but my dad's side of the family is from one so I always spend the summer there.

@Crippen: I heard it only happens on the GameCube version.

@acountddd: Exactly. Someone who works for Nintendo explained it to me once in a way that made a lot of sense.
