A. Because impeachment is just the equivalent of a criminal charge being handed down by a grand jury. The actual trial happens in the Senate. Specifically, now, a Senate controlled by Mitch McConnell. Who will make certain that it fails.

I don’t suppose that anyone has considered that Democrats will screw themselves if they go the impeachment route, that these Republicans know it, and are trying to goad them into doing something that will end up turning America into a 1-party state.
