Not really surprised by this. It was a deliberate company effort, not just a couple of engineers who designed a defeat device and somehow snuck it into the assembly chain unnoticed. Of course there was gonna be a boardroom presentation about it.

Considering how much they’re asking for the DLC, it’s clearly not an accident.

It’s been on XBox One for awhile on their Early Access program as well. Runs pretty lousy though, at least for now.

I (still) have the Panasonic 3DO FZ-1, and the Atari Jaguar. The 3DO’s hardware was actually superior, and no that’s not just because it was CD-based. Atari’s “64-bit” claim was voodoo math. In effect the Jag was little better than a 32-bit console itself (and an underpowered one at that).
