I’m sort of tired of this particular rage. It’s like other contests—you can voluntarily choose to participate knowing you may not win the prize. This isn’t a career for fans. This isn’t their hope for bread on the table. It’s fun. Let it be fun.

This is all well and good, but in this dark and despairing world right now, I feel like the one thing I need most from Star Trek is some simple gentle, utopian, hopeful, idealistic, role-model escapism. I’ve had just about enough edginess and compromise and pettiness in my real life and TV for a while.

It blows my mind that people can do this stuff. Isn’t ROM hacking basically reverse-engineering a bunch of hexadecimal numbers?

I think the color choices are poor, but that’s a pretty small complaint.
