I'm intrigued with 'no hud' modes but only if the game has been designed that way, I like games experiences which are immersive, but I don't think Hitman has been designed that way considering that option is only available in the ultra high difficulty.

Absolutely, I've played some games where normal mode was just that tad bit too easy. Adjusting difficulty level in games is one of the most challenging and difficult parts of game design.

Yup, easy difficulty is to satisfy new casual gamers, and hard to satisfy hardcore gamers, but as you said, most commonly by just cranking up the AI damage and cheap, annoying things.

I very rarely play games on Hardcore or above difficulty. Don't take me wrong, I like to be challenged in the game but most games at that difficulty are just super frustrating and not fun at all. Games should be fun. I have some friends who always play at that level, they hate it, but do it just simply for bragging…
