Really, you featured the mascot from Panda Express???
Ddin’t you notice the guy in front of the Panda wearing a Panda Express shirt?
You do realize that they are from an actual Panda Express and were handing out coupons right?

It is the way he did it and the carelessness of the play that resulted in injury which is why I think, although difficult, it was the right call. Marchessault is acting like its the ref’s fault they gave up 4 goals in 5min, in addition to already blowing a 3-1 series lead as pointed out by Buster above. March is just…
Exactly. 5-minute penalties are uncommon in the playoffs, but can anyone else remember when a team scored 4 goals off one?
Or they could have not given up a short-handed goal in double OT of Game 6. Yes, they were screwed by a bad call last night, but they had that series on a tee the game before.
There’s nothing critical about this. It’s cut and dry. The call is moot, because Vegas put themselves in a position to fail with their play in games 5, 6 and during that PK. If they don’t like it, maybe they should have played better.
Except that their season wasn’t “stolen”. Which is what I was counterpointing. The call is moot. They fucked up on their own.
They don’t, but if you are looking for critcial thinking on kinja you are setting yourself up for failure. It was a shit call, at most it should have been a double minor and Vegas deserved to lose for the way they played that PK and the second half of the series.
Not in this case. They lost three in a row, including 2 in overtime, and gave up 4 goals on a 5 minute penalty kill when they were up 3-0 in game 7.
Or give up 4 goals in 4 mins...ive seen many teams get a 5 min major and get no goals or only one. This is not the same as what the saints got...vegas still had a chance to win this game.
I don’t know about that. Yea, maybe the call was too severe. But I just can’t get past the fact that the Knights were the ones who gave up 4 power play goals not to mention blowing a 3-1 series lead. It never should have gotten to a game 7. I’ve seen tons of teams kill off a 5 minute major. I’ve seen tons of teams try…
My thoughts exactly. Might’ve gotten shafted by a ref call on this one, but they still lost 3 games in a row....
Don’t let facts get in the way of my narrative, damn it.
Bingo.
Yes. Also even if you shorthanded for 5 minutes you are still allowed to stop the other team from scoring 4 goals.
Having paid no attention to this series, yeah...blowing a 3-1 series lead and then giving up four goals at a rate of one goal per minute in the third period of a Game 7 is typically not getting screwed. It’s imploding.
Heck, some cities don’t even get a chance to get screwed in the playoffs even after multiple decades and franchises
Counterpoint:
Yes, it’s an unusual injury from a cross-check. But if a cross-check results in a serious injury, the player who committed the violation needs to be ejected. That’s the chance a player takes when he puts another player in peril by committing a penalty.
In only their second season! Some teams wait decades to finally get screwed in the playoffs.
