As a bicyclist, I completely concur with your view regarding bicycles disobeying traffic rules.
If they wanted to ride together, that's fine, but it is not up to the Range Rover driver to change his driving to make that happen. It is also not up to the motorcycle drivers to intimidate and force the Range Rover or any other car on the road out of the way so they can ride together.
