No. Those are “reported collisions” not actual collisions. Hunter College did a hospital study that showed that pedestrian injuries due to being struck by cyclists are far in excess of whatever the DOT/NYPD “reported” figures might be.

I act like it doesn't matter. Worked so far.
Naw. Society can make things more difficult. First world “society” rarely makes anything completely impossible for someone due to disability, tho.
I’ve never actually used that word to describe myself, but, sure.
Fair enough. Although, personally, I think simply going to that event would be a worse box to put myself in, far worse than any pigeonholing someone else might do to me. <shrug>
For sure, and I recognize that I’ve got personal hang-ups (that might be short-sighted, disempowering and stupid) about being part of a disabled “community.” I just can’t get my head around what people would get out of that interaction. Definite baggage on my end, but at the same time, this particular essay seems like…
Sorry. I didn’t mean to be a dick. I totally get the notion of embracing who you are, but have a lot of trouble with the idea that there are people who identify primarily as disabled. The way you’ve got it phrased - “it’s rare to see people with disabilities celebrated for who we are” sounds like an excuse for not…
I don’t remotely get the event.
Seriously - I do not get this at all. not a single part of it.
Oof. It sounds like you’re new at this. Disability is not who you are. I mean, I guess it can be, but that doesn’t seem healthy.
Aside from being able to control them when you're out of home, the ability to customize individual bulbs is pretty sweet. When it's time to watch a movie, will turning down the two bulbs over the TV and keeping the others mid-bright change the world? No, but it's neat.
Yeah - I've got the same experience. Every time we go up to the house, my phone buzzes when the car gets to the garage - lights pop on exactly as planned. Other than one questionable Tap, everything's worked great.

The only thing worse than calling Time Warner to fix my internet would be calling the city to do it. Holy crap - that would be awful.
Wow. I think New York's going to have a rough go if you'd look to extend your position on media and its creators into actual policy. We could replace the hundreds of thousands who have meaningful, steady jobs in the industry with literally dozens of Kickstarter campaigns.
Hey Tim. You're not known as being super supportive of the media business when there's conflict with technology upstarts. Since media is such a massive economic engine for New York, are there any previous held philosophical positions you'd moderate a bit if elected to represent all the citizens of the state, or…
Yeah - your friend's a bad lawyer, particularly considering his dependence on the argument that Goldiblox "recorded their own music." In fact, they recorded the Beasties' music. A tune is absolutely copyrightable.
Yeah - I noticed that they replaced a huge paper map in Times Square with these screens. Not only do they look more confusing, but only one person can use them at a time. We're gonna get lines for these things. Stupid.
I wouldn't be so sure to dismiss the Vizsla thing - mine was about 72 pounds at his biggest - looked a lot less delicate than the skinny ones. And definitely a leaner. :) Whatever Cedar is, though, looks like a real good dog.
Brothers! (maybe a little)
