I’ve been dreaming of an M2 GC for a while. It will never happen, and it per chance it does happen it won’t come to the US. Much like the M2 GTS, the odds are against it...

It’s available with the expensive transmission that sells in larger volumes.
But no, not the correct transmission. :-(
To hype the 4er before the M2 (as stated in a few other threads here), and to keep BMW in the news. BMW doesn’t care about enthusiasts, they care about money. This isn’t “one for the true fans” this is a calculated marketing scheme.
The #1 A+ must-have feature of the ZHP is the LSD. No other way to get it from BMW. That’s the problem, at least from us Jalop’s POV. :-\
A 135i is a lot of fun, just make sure to get a manual and be very careful if you decide to tune it...
100 units is a joke. >_<
You are operating under the [mistaken] assumption that BMW is in the business of making cars. They are not. They are in the business of making money.
Nomad has 4 wheels: Half Life 3 confirmed.
This sounds like my experience with the VW Military Sales dealer in Germany. I arrived in Germany in the spring of 2011 and wanted to purchase a Golf R. When I visited the dealer, he said that I needed to put down “at least” $5000, then in October I would find out IF I would get an allocation, and then delivery would…
The Mazdaspeed Miata came to the US for two years and had 180 HP. It was also sold in Japan. Fun fact: the Australian version (called the MX-5 SE) was slightly de-tuned with 162HP (it ran 0.5 bar vice 0.6 for the USDM and JDM models).
Full Disclosure: I got the “fun fact” from Wikipedia.
Dude, look at the user name.
They’re going to hobble the M2 to keep it well below the M3/4. Wait and see...
Because you can. ;-)
I really want a BRG with brown leather ND. (with a small turbo)
I’ve logged the most time in a “special edition” NB but also driven a couple aftermarket turbo’d ones. One of the turbos had WAY too much power and WAT too much lag but the other was pretty great. Coming from some fairly high powered cars I know what it will take to keep me entertained. It doesn’t need 300HP but 155HP…
Honestly the 2.0 skyactive doesn’t have the power I would like. I have driven a few Miatas and I love them, but they all need a small bump in power. Not a lot, but more than available stock. I have never driven a Mazdaspeed Miata though.
I commented on my own pic. ;-)
The more I look at it, I’m not sure if it really IS green (kinja fading notwithstanding).
The US “launch edition” has a nice looking tan interior.
Is that even green or is my monitor not calibrated well?
Moving along...
Do manufacturers have to do every safety and emissions test with every body style/engine/transmission combination like in the US? This requirement is often sited as a reason the US market doesn’t get some of the cool special editions of certain cars that the JDM market does get.
