Everyone thinks they’re under powered because they have to be equipped with Prius tires to be any sort of RWD type fun.

I don’t think they need 475HP to be fun, but I do think they need 250HP (from a small turbo) for me to consider buying one.

A friend of a friend had a 1982 280ZX turbo and it was an auto. I guess transmissions of the day couldn’t handle the *well over 100 horses* that a 1980’s turbo could blast out. ;-)

I had no idea till I did some digging. Now I really want one, even with that ugly front and rear.

Until I did some more searching I had no idea! I thought they were SMG only in the US. I hate the styling (yes, still) but I’d put up with it for that V10 howl controlled by an honest-to-gods manual.

Is it possible to swap the SMG with an actual working transmission (preferably a manual)?

It’s not the “end of story” but it is a huge part of the story.

It’s DSG only, Europe can keep this one. I’d rather have a GTI with the Performance Pack and a manual.
