The obsession is because of who it is. Her celebrity status is because of her appearance. I agree the media goes way overboard, but I at least understand why they do it to who they do.

When you're a celebrity who's "talent" is looking hot, this is the kind of backlash you get when you're not. It would be like Lady Gaga forgetting how to sing, or Howard Stern not being able to talk.
