You did well Kotaku. You got me into this article with an attractive animated picture. Damn.

"This is one of those things that seems like it should have been invented long ago." Yeah, and seems like one of those things that isn't really necessary either. It's another one of those unnecessary inventions that millions will buy because it exists.

Ok. Let me begin by stating what a huge fan of the original series I am. I've even cosplayed as the Blue Spirit. Having read all about this film since its conception I knew it would be different, but I tried really hard not to hate it for this reason. Turns out I did hate it, but just for being so terrible.

@KeyBoa: I was about to point this out too. You are exactly right. The whole show displays the styles beautifully and very in depth. The "genius" film-makers had nothing to do with that.

@iJizzLots: I don't think so, if I'm understanding you correctly. The barrel is formed by the flight path of the plane, not by the tip of its wings.
