I'd like to note that (to my knowledge) nobody in the media has called Ray Rice a distraction. So a guy who beats women isn't a distraction, but a dude who happens to prefer men to women is one.

I'd rather them just donate to the American Cancer Society. Yeah, breast cancer is a huge issue, but other cancers don't get the attention they deserve either.

Two completely different situations. I can see his point though. 4 just seemed in line with what other players have received. I would have been fine with just about any punishment. Perhaps the "video evidence" wasn't as damning as the prosecution said it was?

They want to be together. Judge them all you want, just stating the facts. They're shitty people, they deserve each other quite frankly.

She was originally charged with assault too. They both have issues. http://gamedayr.com/sports/ray-ric… Not remotely defending Rice, but the fiance isn't 100% innocent in this. They both need counseling. Glad they're getting it.

A first time weed smoker in the NFL gets 2 games. Ray Rice, a first time woman beater, got 2 games. That's just wrong.

Leaning more towards the first, though his image probably has something to do with it too.

4 would have made me happy. I'm upset that the NFL is far too lenient to "first time offenders". Not every offense is the same. That's like saying that a first offense murderer gets the same punishment as a first offense jaywalker.

You're mad because they're going to counseling? I think Ray Rice is a pretty shitty human being, but I at least respect him a little bit for going to counseling.

But they have a whole month dedicated to breast cancer awareness! They give 5% of the profits to Susan Komen! You bet the NFL cares about women('s money)!

I'm disgraced by this, and I'm a Ravens fan.

Buck, buck, buck Mr. Chickensworth! BUCK BUCK BUCK!

My God, he looks like the result of Phillie Phanatic and a magenta Muppets character making love.

I wasn't aware that John Elway was the Texas Rangers' mascot.

I don't know what the heck that thing is, and I'm pretty sure I don't even want to know what it is. That thing would have scared me to death as a kid.

What about Baltimore? M&T Bank Stadium has hosted soccer matches before. Great stadium. 75,000+ can fit in there.

Hey diddle diddle, Ray Rice won't be in jail-iddle

Just for all the lolz, can Sterling be forced to sell the team to Magic Johnson?

The First Amendment gives you protection from punishment from the government. That's it. Doesn't protect you from being able to say whatever the heck you want without any consequences. NBA is a private organization, they can do as they please. Same reason Boy Scouts are allowed to discriminate against homosexuals.

I actually like this idea, except give each player the option to become a free agent.
