Could you please point me to a site that discusses aero-modding, thanks.

I'm with you, but still, kudos to him.
I think it's, "he started out changing the oil himself 1000 miles AFTER the vehicle notification". I had to read it a few times
Wasn't there a video on this site recently that showed one of these things self combusting? It was something about a leaky fuel rail or something, and it's supposedly a common problem.
Seriously, articles like these are the reason I love Jalopnik.
THAT man bought himself the car he wanted. THAT man applied the modifications he wanted. Who are you (or me) to say that he could've just gotten a 135i.
lol. Damn, give the car a break.
.... because only Americans rev their motor
You should've specified that to the 2nd gen, the 1st gen motors didn't have this issue.
Hmm, I'm inclined to say that 400 whp isn't much from a 4.6 V8 on 10 psi, requiring a built motor before reaching 100 hp-per-liter?. There's a long list of V6's that can easily outdo that, as well as a handful of 4 cylinder motors.
Ok thanks, makes more sense.
So they're being funny when they say "Cee-apostrophe- D" ?
Kia Cee'd ..... isn't it pronounced "seed"?
Got it, you've just connected the dots for me.
I see your point. This is probably irrelevant to 99% of owners though, because all it means is that the Caddy might make 800 hp as a somewhat reliable ceiling, while the bimmer will "only" make 700-720 hp as a somewhat reliable hp ceiling. Not many owners will go further than basic upgrades. I think that ordinary…
This wasn't a backfire though. I'm not challenging what you are saying, just trying to understand. If it's a FP regulator that leaks under vacuum and goes into the intake manifold, then why did this particular vehicle catch on fire and stay on fire like it did. Furthermore, this Impala was being serviced at the time,…
That doesn't appear to be what has happened here, but now I know to stay away from Impalas.
The link you posted says that the fuel leak would cause a backfire.
Well said, another great point.
