Being under stress can *increase* the likelihood of a cancer gene (or other less desirable genes) switching on ... she's right as far as that goes. But she loses the train of the thought when she implies that just being chilled out is going to keep you cancer free.

This was funny . . . a month ago. I am not trying to be spicy here, but documenting the extreme downward spiral of this woman is not funny anymore (if it ever should have been is another discussion) it pains me now.

I love this site. I visit it every. single. day.

Jez, I want to request an Amanda Bynes blackout. Stop documenting her issues, stop gawking at them.

These are what I call “Grace insults.”

Please stop. This woman is not a celebrity any more, and she is very clearly having some sort of mental breakdown. She does not need Jezebel (or anyone else) documenting her increasingly bizarre behaviour for the salivating and self-righteous masses.

Let's flip this - what if Bynes clearly had an eating disorder?

I hope she is. Because the alternative is too sad to deal with.

Whatever is going on with Amanda Bynes is sad, and I urge the writers on this website to stop covering it. It's increasingly uncomfortable to see these articles.

Yeah, I just don't feel comfortable watching someone's life and psyche completely fall apart, much less making light of it.

Amanda says everyone but her is ugly (unless she's tweeting about her nose), news at 11.

I fully agree that super-short shorts of any kind are almost always a bad idea. But this commentary is especially rich coming from her... people in glass houses is all I'm saying.

Yes, many of us subscribe to having the PhD baby not only mentally (my former flatmate, who was in writeup when I was a first year PhDer, called me her PhD midwife) but also physically. Though most I know do lose the weight after (as someone heading into writeup themselves, here's hoping)

Pretty sure the finished and bound result was heavier than a lot of newborns too.

Of course, you're okay with the fact that people aren't impressed by your willingness to stop engaging in racist behavior. That's what racists do. They keep being racist even when they're called out. It's also pretty dern pathetic that there are still white people who have this "biracial people are more beautiful"

Funny thing: it's entirely possible to say something racist without ever having remotely intended it to be that way. Saying something racist does not automatically make the person saying it a racist. I have little doubt about your intentions. You're embarrassed and feeling defensive, and I feel for that. But the

Hello. This is a feminist site. The "mutts" controversy aside (you're wrong), commenting on an article that had NOTHING TO DO with physical attractiveness (except to point out that biracial people are frequently fetishized, which, whoops! you did in your comment) by saying, "hey, I'm down with the biracials! they

You know what's sad? We all got so distracted by the "mutts" line that the fact that he feels the need to comment on how much he loves fucking biracial women and how pretty they all are just slid right past. :(

You are a fuckwad. I mean that endearingly, of course.

you are awful
