The main reason why I get the flu vaccine is not to protect myself from the flu. I'm in my mid 20's and extremely healthy. While I don't want the flu, I know that in all likelihood I would be fine if I got it.

So I guess this means that the Sochi Olympics are only going to be 86 kinds of a hot mess instead of 87. Yay?

Well that's hopeful at least.

I though that the age was set with the intent of vaccinating before sexual activity too.

I actually don't think it's less effective after 25, I think the aim is to vaccinate girls before they become sexually active.

Anyone know what this means for women and girls who have already been vaccinated? When a better version of the vaccine becomes available can they be vaccinated again?

Meh. I'll probably have plastic surgery eventually. I want to have breast reduction surgery, I'm just waiting until after I have kids.

I think the use of "Gypsy eyes" isn't meant to be insensitive, rather poetic. It's a cheap literary device, which in any other news cycle would have been ignored or regarded as the taudry, stale metaphor it is.

I am a Jew. The term "Jew" isn't insulting, but if someone described a person as having "jew eyes" or "jew [insert body part here]" I would definitely regard that as an insult.

What's the number one mistake people make when food shopping?

I'm not sure what's going on in LW1. If the friend just goes after extremely good looking guys then it's none of LW1's friggin business and I agree with Sara's reply. Good for the friend. Go for what you want.

My advice from teaching my former kidadult husband how to cook: Do not take any knowledge for granted. There were a lot of things that I took as common sense (like that the meat at the center of the frying pan will cook quicker because its over the flame) which he needed to be told.

If you raised a kid who at the age of 18 can't manage to keep himself fed and properly dressed without assistance, then you didn't finish the job.

I'd give my kids a basic cellphone once they started walking home from school or going off on their own.

I think it depends on how much your kids does for his or herself. I had a cellphone at 10 because I walked 1/2 mile home from school to an empty house. I also rode city buses by myself or with friends.

I'm 26 and married. I don't have a landline. My husband and I both only have cellphones.

I disagree.

The silver lining is that this issue is a great way to weed out the assholes.
