Same. Although I like the look of the wings alright—nothing wrong with a bit of whimsy, I’ve long imagined how awesome it would be to see the fenders and wheels bobbing while driving around from the driver’s seat of a Caterham.

Would having less DF-type aero and being more slippery overall also make for less “dirty air” in its wake? And, would having less dirty air behind the cars in general make racing safer for all the drivers? Would it make passing maneuvers more likely or less likely?
This is super helpful information. Prevention of such harassment was notably missing from the article.
Jason!
If they make a model with a small pickup bed, I bet that could be a successful venture! I was completely smitten with the bare-bones Nissan pickup we rented down there (for a dive vacation, of course!), but I also know and enjoy driving stick, unlike most of the other Americans in our party. And, with many divers also…
I can’t speak to what island featherlite resides on, but having driven a little jelly bean-esque Suzuki Alto in Turks & Caicos (and a diesel Nissan pickup in Bonaire), 35mph is PLENTY for scooting around a smallish island. The roads are often narrow, twisty, and full of surprises like tourists or stray dogs or…
“...for Adults.” Clearly, this was a necessary addition not just to the official vehicle description, but the official name of the vehicle! LOL
Anybody know what was eventually done to make these events safe(ish)? I’m curious how they (evidently) made it so the high pressure boilers didn’t explode so bomb-like. I would guess they modified them to have blow-out panels or strategically weakened some part of them so that they failed in a more controlled manner…
That’s a heck of a deal. Bought.

Seriously, it better come in a nice, bold shade of yellow.
Thought of this piece, too, but couldn’t recall the artist. To me, Ganson’s Machine is more evocative due to the end of the drivetrain being blocked in concrete.
Great read about Bautou. Thanks for posting.
Listening to NPR yesterday, one of the exit polling trends was reportedly people voting for Biden or Sanders DESPITE admitting Warren was their favorite, but deemed her less “electable.” *facepalm* *facepalm* *facepalm* *facepalm*
This is well put and the best comment I’ve read so far. My sympathies to your friends and family who have experienced such hate and abuse.
That will not work for Florida, unfortunately. The ground there is nothing but lime stone that’s hollowed out like swiss cheese. You build walls at the perimeter, but the water literally comes up from the ground everywhere.
As an avid scuba diver, I can’t freakin’ wait to dive The Ruins of Miami!
Silver lining, LOL!
I don’t think that’s a dumb question at all. I don’t have an answer for giant lakes, specifically, but as someone living along the Ohio River in Cincinnati, I can say climate change does appear to be increasing the frequency and severity of rivers flooding and overrunning their banks. My understanding is that this is…
Serious question: Does this show hold up well for viewing today? I vaguely recall watching some of it when I was a kid, but I think the ideas and plots where too advanced for my little brain (a lot of politics, methinks?). I recall being intrigued, and thought it was funny that (iirc) milk was booze to the aliens, but…
