That last sentence definitely gave me legit chills. Wow.

Holy shit, I heard that line but didn’t pick up on the reference. Fantastic!
Precisely. I heard it as “bones”, and it gave me one of the biggest laughs of the night. I missed the next few lines in the skit as a result.
It’s a small thing, but he is ultimately responsible for the grand golden age of beer we now find ourselves in. He legalized home brewing, which set the stage for the first micro breweries in the late 70s and 80s like Anchor, Sierra Nevada, and Sam Adams, and well, things really took off from there.
So, at least we’ve finally identified the owner of this license plate:
Challenges of poverty: when you need your car to get to your job to make enough money to hopefully keep your car roadworthy. No car --> no job --> no income --> stay impoverished, never climb out.
Great read. About the unusual carb location (ahead of the compressor), this does seem so strange and surprising! Are there other application examples of this setup--compressing the air/fuel mix? Could this have contributed to the poor reliability of these cars?
I admit this is how I have dealt with brake fluid and old gasoline in the past. I figured, “it’s all petro-chemicals derived from crude, so is probably recycled the same way, right?”
Yay! I’ve been wanting this to be a thing again in trucks since the Chevy SSR came out. At the time I thought, “Wow, that folding roof is awesome. They should have that on a non-retro-ugly truck, too.”
Agreed. I imagined they would just show her grabbing them form a locker at NASA, looking at them briefly (no pun intended!) so the audience is cued in for a second (“oh, those are the space diapers!”) and then she shoves them into a duffel bag.
Came here for this, thx.

I do honestly wonder if the slashing of so many environmental regs is due to lobbying efforts versus far-right idiots like Hannity whispering lies into Trump’s ear. I mean, it doesn’t seem like automaker lobbiests had anything to do with this move, for instance. Though, I guess big oil might benefit?
That idea would hold some water except that car manufacturers still have to meet a wide variety of safety regulations and crash testing. They are still held to the same safety standards regardless of what they must do to achieve efficiency and emissions standards.
That’s just infuriating. We need to start putting red light cameras on school buses.
“I said NEAR the edge of Mulholland Drive, STEWART!”
I KNOW how little sense I have, and it’s 200hp worth in a 2800lb car.
I copy your comment 100%, except replace “LG” with “Motorola” and “V40" with “Z Play.”
Glad to see someone with more knowledge chime in. Cheers.
Ford’s actually got my number on this one.
