The WSJ (one of Rupert Murdoch’s pro-business outlets) put out a hilarious chart showing what CEOs do in a week. It was supposed to show how hard working they are, but 45% of the time they’re doing personal (non-work) stuff and lunch.

I remember Humble Bundle was started way-back-when by Wolfire, who had made Lugaru (one of my favorite indie games). It looks like they changed hands a few times since, and have been owned by Ziff-Davis (IGN) for the past few years.

Between that, and the brand’s expansion to include persistent bundles, a subscription

The writing was on the wall when Ziff Davis acquired them in 2017. Kind of surprised it took them this long to greed it up, tbh. Were probably waiting for all of us to forget they were acquired by a megaconglomerate so that we wouldn’t associate the shitty policy changes with the acquisition. Didn’t forget!

The Talos Principle was absolutely wonderful.

I generally agree. There’s a difference between “figuring out the solution to a puzzle” and “executing the solution to a puzzle” and sometimes a game will increase the difficulty of the latter just to make the game more challenging. Same old brain teaser, now you just have to jump through these hoops!

A game I thought

Hey have you thought about relaxing and not being weird about video games online?

UBISOFT PREDICTIONS:

Now do Spirits Within, you cowards.

I think Fable 2 was a much better game than Fable 3. They did fix the co-op in 3 so that is much better than 2, but I like the story, world and overall experience of 2 much better. At least for me Fable 2 is the better game.

Speaking as a millennial myself (and just about all of my friends, who are also millennials), we don’t. Believe it or not, but many of us grew up playing games on a range of systems dating back to the NES/Super NES, so many of us prefer well-built, fully-realized experiences to F2P shovelware.

The original Puzzle Quest was a fantastic game, and more and more I’m convinced that it was dumb luck that it worked out as well as it did. The fact that every attempt to re-capture that magic has been at best mediocre is kind of amazing.

The amount of whitewashing of pre-Trump bullshit that the last four years have allowed is just going to get worse. It doesn’t help that most people don’t understand shit about history from the 10 years before they were born to the present.

I’ll never understand why auto tune is popular. It sounds like hell and is a dead giveaway that the singer can’t hold hold a pitch to save their life... yet, it’s all over the place!

Dems control the senate.

By electing Jon and the Reverend you can make an immediate difference in your own lives, the lives of people all across this country because their election will put an end to the block in Washington on that $2,000 stimulus check, that money that will go out the door immediately to people who are in real trouble.

Biden promised $2,000 checks. Nobody’s gotten $2,000 checks. Seems like Luke understands this plenty well.

I miss this weird, absurd era of the internet very much. When memes spread like, well, memes. I guess I’m old.

This is triggering a midlife crisis in me. We all have no chance to survive, so we must all make our time. We cannot say that all our days are belong to us.

For me this was really the start of meme culture as we know it. There’d been viral jokes prior to this, but All Your Base took it to the next level.
