Yeah, these Treehouse presentations always linger on a game for way too long for me. It kinda spoils the experience with these in-depth “let’s plays.” 

They release early for supply-demand gauging. So by the time Mario Odyssey releases this winter their supply chain is optimized.

From what’s revealed so far it does look that way. Just a bunch of ports that I have no interest in paying full price for. With the exception of that Mario game, which I can’t imagine it not being able to run on WiiU. *shrug*

Full digital backwards compatibility is what I’m hoping for. It is pretty much what will make the Switch a launch day purchase or not for me.
