Well, I'm fat and look terrible without a beard simulating the jawline I no longer have, so I guess I'm going to die alone whether I get my haircut or not. Great. But hey, this was just me pretending to be a real person for a little while. Time to stop wasting people's time asking for advice when I'm a lost cause

I'm looking into the British equivalent.

Looking into it.

Feminist Ryan Gosling is both more handsome and a better feminist than me, but I guess I could make it work.

I can tell I'm bad at this because I actually think Mr Eric looks better in the before pictures. I mean, that white jacket at least? Really? I must be even more clueless about this than I thought.

That's the plan I'm tending towards at this point. Though I am a little nervous that if I go for shoulder length I'll just end up tying it back as soon as it's long enough and falling back into my comfort zone.

OK, someone else recommended looking at Christian Kane, and this came up.

I know, I know, women do have it worse, I'm trying to keep that in mind. I'm pretty frugal in general, so I can probably afford to spend a lot more. I also grew up with former-hippy parents who met in a commune, so spending a lot of money on these things goes against everything I was raised to believe. Oh well, needs

I posted a picture in this reply if you're curious: http://jezebel.com/5979248/?post=56679569

I kinda know, but only because one of the few girls I knew in high-school who liked my hair also introduced me to prog-rock and went for walks in the woods with me. We both moaned about being born 50 years too late. Unfortunately women like that seem to be relatively thin on the ground, and I have resigned myself to

*googles* Women pay that much? Oh well, I guess this wasn't going to be cheap anyway.

Hmm, will have a look for a UK equivalent, thanks.

I knew it! You're not the first woman to try that!

Well it started off as a rebellious act when I was 12. I was the only guy in my school with long hair for a while, and a lot of people hated it, so it was a quiet "fuck you" to a lot of people who made it their business to tell others how they should look/act. I pretty much resolved to only get it cut when people

Haha, thanks, now I just need to get that haircut and find some women who feel the same way who don't live on the internet. Or simply don't turn my back on any women I am interested in. Walk backwards out of rooms, that sort of thing. They'll never know.

I was thinking as long as possible while still being stylish. But yeah, chin or shoulder length would be do-able, if terrifying.

Umm, it's not really guys I am aiming to attract, since I'm straight. I guess I should have specified that in my first post. Serves me right for be heternormative...

Lindsey from Angel? Sold! Thanks for suggesting something a bit more concrete, it's a lot easier than trying to visualise what people are describing.

OK, that's a good suggestion about looking good when it's grown out, I'm putting that on the list.

Thanks, will do. If nothing else this has been giving me lots of empathy for women and the standards they are held to. Why are hairstyles I look at on impossibly handsome men with chiseled cheekbones? I can't compete with this! /depression
