I'm just going to make a blanket reply here on the virtual currency issue, since a lot of people are pointing it out.

The thing that confuses me the most about "virtual property" is that all it amounts to is data on a hard disk that could be given or taken away with a few lines of code and a fraction of a second worth of time. This has value, why?

Super Mario World was the first game I ever played on the first console I ever owned. I still remember back when my family first got it, and no one could figure out how to start the game for the first ten minutes. We actually started to think for a while that the opening demo was all the game was. That's just how

@taminosk: It certainly would help, but art style isn't the only thing it needs. Anime/manga needs to start having a soul again. It needs interesting, engaging characters, not cookie cutter stereotypes. It needs plots that are interesting and suspenseful, not half-assed rehashes of ideas we've already seen. It needs

@RyanXP: Actually though, for anyone closely following the anime scene today, it has gotten increasingly worse. It's getting to the point where fan service anime with no plot or story worth mentioning composes more than 50% of the industry. This is well recognized even by japanese anime fans (NSFW link: [www.sankakucom

I'm going to have to say Skies of Arcadia. Not because it wasn't well received (it was), or even because it was overlooked (it wasn't). It's just that so few people appreciate how great the game really was.

@Garlador: I didn't buy it. I played the demo, said "Wow, these controls are shit", and that was the end.

Unbelievable. This is what fans wanted Sega. They wanted a game that played like the originals, but with awesome graphics and new levels. If you hired these guys to make a new Sonic 4, you could've reinstated the fan's faith in you and made millions of dollars, with hardly any effort on your part. In fact, you

@FarmboyinJapan: You can think that if you'd like, but I didn't see him use any qualifiers or conditionals in his original statement. He just said he'd like to play a "Mother 4" if someone made it.

@FarmboyinJapan: Which is why the whole situation sucks. We already know it was the original creator's hope that fans continue the series for him. If the whole things gets shut down because the corporate masters of the Mother property decide the fans don't have the "right to hijack the franchise", it would be a very

Before anyone else speaks ill of this game for being a fan-game, or says that hijacking the Mother series is not what the creator would want, please read this:

@deafblindmute: All I'm saying is, regardless of anything else, if the game gets canceled in the near future, this article probably had something to do with it. Maybe a lot of other things could have prevented it, but Kotaku still didn't do the right thing for their part.

@moehannes: Sometimes it does pay to fight it. After 10 years of fighting through various states of legal limbo, King's Quest: The Silver Lining ([www.tsl-game.com] did finally get released. Unfortunately, it sort of sucked.

@deafblindmute: Maybe, maybe not. But now they almost certainly will. They may be drafting the cease and desist notice as we speak.

@deafblindmute: Actually, I had tried googling "Mother 4" about a month before this article was posted, because I already knew about the game and was checking the progress, but I'd lost the link. It was nowhere to be found in the results. I did eventually find it, but only with some serious digging through the links

@Good news, everyone!: Yea, it really amazes me how fast this translation effort has moved. Many games have had translation projects going for years without a release. With Pokemon Black/White, it's taken about a month. It's too bad you can't get people to put this much effort into translating obscure Japanese Sega

@madammina: Something similar to this perhaps?: [www.telltalegames.com] I should seriously suggest Darkwing Duck as a project to them. Probably wouldn't do much good, but it's worth a shot. That reminds me, I also need to harass the Nostalgia Critic ([thatguywiththeglasses.com] into doing a Darkwing Duck episode. That

@madammina: Whoa, Megavolt was done by Dan Castenelleta? No way, I had no idea.

@madammina: Yea, that sucks that you could no longer get all the original cast together. But as long as they could get Jim Cummings to reprise his role as Darkwing it could be decent. If they did it as a game or something, people might be more forgiving that the original voices weren't all there. But without the
