What’s the modern day equivalent of that? Where’s all the present day science fiction looking at the future and asking hard questions about how we might navigate potential problems, instead of just glorifying ‘80s neon and chrome and violence?

Bioware has lacked that leadership the moment the Doctors left. Trust me, Hudson was never that guy and I honestly believe Bioware is actually better off without him.
Considering that Mass Effect 3 ended like the most uncomfortable wet fart in the middle of a State Dinner, Dragon Age Inquisition was nothing more than a checklist event, and Andromeda was... well... not good; I don’t even care.
CDPR has already confirmed next gen upgrade patch is free
It’s early access.
Of course it’s buggy.
That’s the entire point of early access.
a breath of fresh air...
If you look there at the side of the PS4, you’ll understand why I feel like consoles really should be looking more like mini PCs than they do. I’m not a Microsoft guy, but goddamn if this big ass pillar isn’t a breath of fresh air after 15 years of losing consoles to cooling issues.
When Kotaku says it’s a great port and Ars Tehnica but, most importantly, Digital Foundry says it’s a disappointing one you can bet your sweet ass the port sucks
It seems pretty poorly optimized really. Digital Foundry had this to say:
“Even on a Ryzen 9 3900XT with a GTX 2080 Ti, the game wasn’t hovering that much above 60fps with all settings maxed out”
That’s kinda brutal.
You guys and Ars Technica had a very different PC experience.
The radio in my kitchen, always tuned to NPR, was on during the funeral broadcast and I happened to wander by when Obama was talking, and it was like a freaking out of body experience hearing that voice. He needs to do more televised speeches to remind us what normal feels like.
How’s that kool aid taste?
Hard agree - I really liked the setting and characters, it felt like the next logical step of the Mass Effect story, but there was an ungodly amount of meaningless fetch quests. You go to every planet and there’s just a laundry list of stupid stuff to do that added nothing but time to the game, by the time you’re done…
Do any of the mods make the tons of fetch quests worth doing, or have any kind of written narrative attached to them at all?
Solid take
Italy, Germany, and Austria are starting the process of loosening restrictions, specifically to allow businesses to reopen with strict controls.
I really want to see the melt down on live TV where someone, anyone, just blurts out “OBAMA!” the next time one of these dolts asks “Who could have done it better?”
Used to love Mac Minis, until I bought a Late 2014 model, what a piece of garbage. The damn thing was crawling, I had to install OS X in an external SSD to be able to use it, cause the stock hard drive was a slow piece of junk.
Without multiplayer I can’t see myself buying it. Hopefully they’ll incorporate those MW2 maps into MW (2019). Or maybe they’re just waiting to drop those maps on MW2 (2021).
