From what I can tell Respawn decided instead of tacking on a singleplayer campaign they figured that if everyone is just going to play multiplayer anyway why not have that be where the story unfolds instead.
I'm still a little hesitant about Titanfall, I expect good things from the folks at Respawn but the hypetrain seems to have missed my station.
