I’m actually surprised at how not-hard Proud has been so far(About 12-14 hours in now).

Kingdom Hearts 1 is..... rough. Coarse, barebones.
What I like to think it as is that it is a foundation for KH2 which is better in literally every single way. Kingdom Hearts 2 was made in 2005 and feels better than most games made today.

Fraid not, a LOT has happened in the KH universe and you almost need to play all the games to get a full understanding.
To get a general understanding I think you’d just need to play 1, 2 and Birth by Sleep i think?
