Yeah I was a little confused when I read the article, because that’s Cheadle on the phone.

The bigger difference was that the drunk black woman was taken off the flight, while the drunk (?) white woman left the flight on her own initiative. This would be an article for The Root if the white woman acted drunk but wanted to stay and the airline let her, or if she was taken off the flight in a much gentler

I’m pretty sure that was Rhodey’s voice on the other end of the phone call with Mrs. Fury. Which would confirm the theory that Rhodey is a Skrull that’s been going around since last week.

I thought that it was pretty clearly the voice of Don Cheadle, with the implication being that Rhodey is replaced with a Skrull.

in my mind the ‘disney vault’ marketing tactic is literally the complete opposite of this.

It makes a lot more sense when you realize that this movie is very bad

A July 3rd or 4th opening would apply to next week’s results, not the prior weekend. Presales still just get added to the first week total.

Her role in this movie was plain weird. On the one hand, she’s supposed to be the reasoned voice, the lone good agent trying to rein in the violent tendencies of the 60s Nazis. On the other hand... she’s knowingly collaborating with the 60s Nazis? And then she just, like, gets shot and killed because she’s deeply

A lot of folks on here really don’t understand movie economics. Of course it turns out that neither do the suits at Disney. First off, this film cost over 300 million to make, has at least another 100 mil in advertising (although that is probably a lie that Disney is trying to sell) and the “Box Office” is the gross

It was so bad. I saw it for free and still feel like I wasted money.

Her death isn’t a fridging as it doesn’t motivate anyone or move their story forward.

Indiana Jones being a bit problematic is basically tradition.

Also, NO ONE is clamoring to see Shia LaBeouf take over anything. I’d pay money for him to shut up forever.

Yeah, I wasn’t sure what they were trying to say with this. The way they did it almost read like they were saying she deserved to die for collaborating with the (theoretically reformed but in reality not at all) reformed Nazis. Of course, when the Nazi bodyguards started killing innocent civilians she didn’t really do

You’re an entertainment writer, and you couldn’t bother to at least see why those people call this a failure? The film is making less money than Crystal Skull, and every Indiana Jones film, adjusted for inflation, made around a billion dollars. This film will be LUCKY to make half that. And this film is also far more

Someone doesn’t know how money works. Sam, if you do not consider losing money a disappointment, I have some land I want to sell you.

Your forget the marketing budget, at least $100 millions. And it has no chance whatsoever of making $600 millions.

There is no chance it will reach $600 millions with such an opening and not extraordinary word of mouth. Zero. It will probably nit reach even $500 m.

Yes it’s a flop and the buzz is negative. A movie that costs $300 millions not including at least $100 m marketing needs at the minimum $800 millions in the boxoffice to just break even and they don’t make these movies to break even. It will make around $500 millions if it’s lucky. They will also earn a little from

It’s kind of crazy to me that someone can write about box office results every week and seemingly have no idea how movie financials work. The amount a movie grosses in theaters on its own doesn’t matter at all - these movies are disappointments because studios are spending absurd amounts of money to make them.
