I put in reservations for both the Polestar 2 and XC40 Recharge, because they were both refundable and I could wait to make a decision until they asked me to configure. Polestar 2 is just a bit smaller than I’d like, and the XC40 Recharge was going to be a while, so I ended up getting neither. Got my money back for

I think that’s an equally valid option, and it's why I'm glad buyers have the choice.

I’m a little biased, but I love the “Midship Amusement” decal on the side of the Beat

It’s fucking Ken Paxton. He should be in prison for various reasons. He’s probably just doing it for attention.

The AMG One is such a unique (and expensive) vehicle I don’t see show and display as a real hurdle for anyone in the US who wants one.

If you have to wonder, you can’t afford it. I couldn’t afford to drive this car even if I got it for free, I’m sure.

The 8 speed gearbox has been used in a couple of sets before, the Bugatti Chiron and the Lamborghini Sian. That said, it’s still the highlight of the set.

The benchmark for Lego is 10 cents a brick, with licensed sets costing a bit more. This one is pretty much par for the course.

Let’s be fair here. He wasn’t just standing there. He was also breaking every sketch.

There’s a $12k difference between a base GR86 and a base Z, so it’ll entice some relatively well heeled buyers 86 shoppers. I see it being cross shopped more with the Camaro LT1 and Mustang GT.

The premise is amusing, but the price is not. It’s more than 10x as much as any sane person would consider spending.

a GA ticket for just race day is $500USD ($641 CAD) at Miami. Forget grand stand tickets at the start line for three days.

I thought they looked like handcuffs, like you stick your wrist in them and move your arms to turn the whole assembly. Imagine what a nightmare that would be!

To me the biggest issue is the relatively poor fuel economy, which is terrible for a hybrid application. As others have noted, using it as a generator allows for optimizing for a specific RPM and load, which may allow for efficiency gains not otherwise possible.

My first F1 race was COTA in 2012, in the V8 era. I’d been watching F1 on TV for a couple of seasons at that point, but man I was not prepared for the screaming V8s in person.

The shuttle bus dropped us off about half a mile from the track entrance, and even there, with the distance and grandstands between us and the

Costco tends to have better local options than Sam’s. I had a membership to both in 2020, when the local Costco stores were all more of a zoo than usual thanks to COVID.

The main thing I noticed is a lot more of a your stereotypical national brands (Prego, Pace, etc) while Costco tends to have at least one or two

This is Fisker we’re talking about, so it’s a riskier venture than most, but I’ve had 0 issue getting pre-order deposits back thus far, on a Polestar 2 and Volvo XC40 Recharge.

So long, Gary Bowser!

I bought a Model Y, and I don’t regret it YET only because I never planned to spend on FSD.
